Wondering how godly it is for Christians to be singing so much? There are some among our brothers and sisters out there who think that music is a secondary method of worship to teaching and preaching. Some place almost no importance on music at all. So how important is music in the church? How high of a place should music enjoy compared to preaching? I say we should sing no less than Jesus does! Listen to the writer of Hebrews:
“For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering. For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying, “I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise” (Heb. 2:10-12, Emphasis added).
Jesus not only “declares” or “tells” of his Father’s name among his brothers, but he also “sings” the Fathers praise in the congregation. That’s amazing. At least here we can see that Jesus both preaches and sings. All to the glory of God the Father.
A great article on this topic here.

Have never read this verse that way. Extremely interesting. What is the reference for the quoted text?

Hi Seth. Thanks for your comment. It is cool to think that Jesus himself is not only our high priest, but our worship leader as well. Amazing. We are not only singing TO Jesus, we are also singing WITH him!
What quoted text do you mean?
