Vintage Christianity is a theology blog co-authored by Chris Gates and Jason McNutt. We will develop this page further to explain our mission, purpose and ministry through Vintage Christianity.

Chris Gates: I have a great desire to preach the gospel to the “emerging” postmodern culture, as well as to the “de-merging”/modern/non-post/pre-post and any other kind of culture, encouraging and helping people to become God-centered, Bible saturated, hearts-on-fire, devoted followers of Jesus Christ. I, like so many other young, “reformed evangelicals” seek to spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things, for the joy of all peoples. It is to this end that I labor in Christ, to the glory of God. I am 31 years old. I am married to Amy (10 years). We have two children and a new baby on the way. We currently live in Austin, Texas where I am serving as Worship Pastor at a new church plant (www.hcbcds.com).

Schools I have attended include Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Fort Worth, TX (2003-2006) and Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary in Minden, LA (1997-1998).

jasonJason McNutt: Like Chris, I have a great desire to preach the gospel and help people see all the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. I am a little wiser (cool way of saying older) than Chris and am married to Mandi. We have three sons (Cole, Alex & Andrew). I am a graduate of The University of Texas (Hook’em Horns!) with a BBA. I recently left the United States Air Force as a pilot and I am now planting a church in Southwest Austin in the community of Dripping Springs. We are hosted by Hill Country Bible Church and are excited to reach this area with the life-transforming power of Jesus.

I have also served as senior pastor of Ferry Lake Baptist Church in the Shreveport area.
